Have you ever thought that your new phone is new one or getting an existing one swapped out / repaired, you should keep an eye out for the casually slipped in fake models.  Shops and online sellers are expert at cheating people in the matter of electronic goods to gain more profit. Here I’m going to share with you a simple technique for finding the originality of Android Phone.

The IMEI or MEID number for your mobile phone acts as a unique identifier for that device. No two devices will have the same IMEI or MEID, which makes it a very useful tool for tracking lost or stolen cell phones. You can quickly retrieve and record your phone’s IMEI or MEID number in a variety of different ways, depending on your device.

  • Check the original package box of your android mobile, don’t worry about the booklet, just look for the box. Look the barcode label stuck to your box. It might have been placed over the opening as a seal. Look for the IMEI/MEID. It should be clearly labeled and is usually listed together with the barcode and serial number. Write down in a paper (Important)

  • IF your phone has removable battery (if not, then skip this step) then open the battery cover on your mobile phone and remove the battery. The IMEI number should be located on the white label under the battery. It will be 15 to 17 digits long with no letters or slashes. You only need the first 15 numbers. Write down in a paper (Important).

  • Enter *#06# on your phone’s key pad. When the final # is entered, a 15-digit number with the title “IMEI number” will appear. Write down in a paper (Important).

  • Go to Settings > About Phone > Status > Scroll down until you find the MEID or IMEI entry. Your phone may have both listed. Write down in a paper (Important).

Now you have all those written IMEI numbers. Just match them, if all those written numbers are same then your phone is original one and you can feel safe.
